Hello Everyone!

I hope that you all have had a wonderful week!

My week has been AMAZING!!!

We taught Lissa (the lady who tracted into a couple of weeks ago) the Plan of Salvation this week. It was probably the most spiritual lesson I've ever been a part of. I started balling when I spoke about the Spirit World and I felt like Grandpa was right there next to me helping me out with the lesson. I've never felt his presence to strong before, it was the best feeling in the world!!! You know that scripture that talks about angels being on your right hand and on your left? I feel like angels are guiding me every single day as a missionary! :)
 

Then the week ended on a great note when 7 investigators came to church yesterday!! It was unbelievable!!! I felt like there wasn't enough of myself to go around. I was trying to introduce all the investigators to the members and getting them to their right classes and then we also had to teach the Relief Society Lesson. Good thing the lesson was on Joseph and Hyrum Smith so basically it was like teaching the first lesson to a bunch of ladies who already knew the answers. lol
I've never been able to make lessons or presentations go for a long time because I like to make things as simple as possible. So I was a wee bit nervous that the lesson would end too quickly but everyone started commenting and we were having a really good discussion about Joseph Smith - before I knew it was 5 minutes over time. So that was a huge blessing!!! :)

Over the next two weeks the mission will be having three Extended Zone Conferences and Sisters Haskell, Stanley, Seastrand and  I will be singing at all three  conferences. They're expecting over 600 people at each conference so pray that my voice won't crack in the middle of the song! lol

Im really excited for the rest of the transfer!!

Tell my babies that I love them very much!!!

Out five months

HELLO EVERYONE!!

So Im happy to announce that I am now 5 months old! Man, its been a rough five months... Who knew that when people said mission life was hard they actually meant it. But its been awesome!! Im so glad that I've had this opportunity to be out on a mission and meet the people that I have met. Everyday God molds me into a better and more obedient missionary. I can't wait to see what the rest of my mission will bring. I feel like I've learned enough in the last 5 months to fill up a whole lifetime of experiences and here I am not even halfway through an 18 month adventure. God knows us individually! Every time I share Joseph Smith's first vision I make sure to testify of that fact. That God knows each and everyone of us individually! God called Joseph by his name and then said "This is my beloved son- Hear Him." What  a glorious testimony of God's love for each of us. If God knew a humble 14 year old boys name. He knows your name as well! How great is our message?? I get to share that with random people on the street?? I LOVE IT!! Being a missionary is the BEST!!! :)

Lately my emails have been a bit boring, so I wrote down good things to share in my email  this week so hopefully this email is a little better!

Funny story-- the very first day I was with Sister Haskell I took her tracting. She was pretty nervous and we got to the doorbell and she rang the doorbell... No luck. They didn't answer the door but as we were walking away she knocked over a little light they had in the yard... Totally broke it! She looked at me as if I knew what to do... I looked around and whispered "run". And so we did. Hopefully that nonmember finds it in her heart to forgive us... we should of left a note or something but it was a good story that we'll always remember.

We then met this man named Troy- he told us about his life and how his 13 year old son died. He just can't seem to understand why God would let his happen. I testified of the Plan of Salvation and of the work that we can do in the temple. I told him that he will see his son again and that our message could help him feel peace. He agreed with me but said that he was too lazy to actually go through with the missionary lessons. He said he "might" call us... I pray everyday that he will. He needs God in his life.

Then there is this man named Pete. He was baptized when he was 14 years old but he hasn't been active for a very long time. In fact he lives in Utah during the summer. We often have nice chats with him but he's heading back to Utah this week... so we won't see him again. When we were chatting he looked at our shoes and asked us if that's what we walk around in all day. We answered yes, they're cute aren't they? He said yes, but you're going to ruin your feet... (Of course my teenage head hadn't thought of that) so he got his wallet out and gave us $60 to buy new shoes with! WHAT THE HECK?? He won't go to church, but he randomly gives the missionaries money??? And so today we are going to go shoe shopping. He is an awesome guy, one day I hope he will come back to church!

ALSO, we have this investigator named BooBoo. He has been investigating the church for 7 years. He even pays his tithing but refuses to be baptized. Well!! We set a date for his baptism!! APRIL 26th!!!! WE'RE SO EXCITED FOR HIM AND HIS FAMILY! At the same time we were setting a date for baptism, we set a date for the temple. April 26 of 2015!! His family is so excited to be sealed to him! AHHHHHHH what a happy beginning to a wonderful story!

We had a baptism this past weekend! It was Brandon's baptism. There was a little drama with his nonmember dad who walked out halfway through the baptism.... some people just don't know what to do when they feel the spirit. They literally run away from it. But overall it was an awesome experience! Brandon was smiling from ear to ear when he came out of the water!

So I had an amazing week and I hope that all of you did too!!! :)

Sister Haskell

GOOD MORNING WORLD!!! 

I hope everyone is doing well today?? I

My new companion's name is Sister Haskell, she is from Boise Idaho and is 19 years old. She is brand new from the MTC and willing to work hard bringing the message of the Restored gospel to everyone! And so, that is exactly what we are doing!!! :)

I've learned so much the last week about myself and about how the Holy Ghost works with me. I'm a little slow at hearing him sometimes but when I do its normally spot on. It's amazing how much Heavenly Father guides our daily lives. And how much I've learned to rely on His help and become the missionary He wants me to be. 

I'm grateful for the last 5 months and all that I've been able to learn from my past two companions and my new one. Sister Haskell is already a wonderful missionary and I am so excited for her to be out here in Florence. The next 5 weeks are going to be a little harder than the last few months have been but I'm excited to see what Heavenly Father has in store for us. 

 

Our investigators are progressing well, and one of our investigators in picking a date for his baptism this week! We're really excited about that especially since he has been investigating the church for 7 years. I'm pretty sure the whole entire ward will be at his baptism! 

We also have two baptisms next weekend! :) And I will be giving a talk on the Holy Ghost at one of them. I'm kinda nervous about it but I'm sure the Lord will calm my nerves so that I can say what He wants me to say. 

 

To all my siblings I want to say that I LOVE YOU!

You're almost at the end of the school year! Keep going strong and getting good grades and doing amazing things! Heavenly Father is so proud of you and so is your big sister! 

LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH!!! 

p.s. I have a pretty killer missionary tan already. OH YEAHHHH!!!!!
